MILWAUKEE — A snow emergency was declared for the City of Milwaukee on Sunday after a winter storm dropped several inches of snow onto the area.

During this snow emergency, parking rules have changed so if you're not sure where you can park and when here's what you need to know:

No parking allowed on arterial roadways

Between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., no parking is allowed on arterial roadways. To see what arterial roadways do not allow any parking, click here.

Alternate side parking on side streets

Any Milwaukee resident who parks on a side street overnight must move their vehicle to the ODD numbered side of the street by 10 p.m. Sunday.

Because Monday is the first of the month and also an odd-numbered day, the Department of Public Works will resume regular parking regulations on Monday night.

Then on Tuesday night the snow emergency will resume, and people must move their cars to the EVEN side of the street by 10 p.m.

According to the City of Milwaukee, parked vehicles must be flush to the curb and out of the flow of traffic.

Additionally, designated Milwaukee Public School lots will be open for off-street parking. All vehicles must be moved from these lots by 7 a.m. the following morning.
