BELOIT — The city of Beloit issued a snow emergency Friday ahead of the weekend storm.
Most of Wisconsin is expecting to get over two inches of snow from Friday night into Saturday. Northern counties are expected to get even more.
Because of these expected snow totals, cities are starting to issue snow emergencies including the city of Beloit.
This snow emergency goes into effect on 6 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday.
According to a press release, "vehicles are prohibited from parking or standing on city streets during a snow emergency, according to Beloit city ordinance."
