With the Milwaukee Bucks out of town for the weekend, Fiserv Forum has its first sheet of ice on the floor. It's for Crystal by Cirque du Soleil.
"We have a team of 34 technicians that travel with us on tour and a lot of work is done in advance," said Julie Desmarais, the touring publicist.
Work done ahead of time to make the latest show even more special than the last.
"It combines the acrobatic world and the figure skating world which Cirque du Soleil has never done before."
Ice skater Michael Helgren has been part of the show for four months. He enjoys performing alongside the acrobats.
"Us ice skaters, we've never worked with acrobats or people back handspringing next to you, or flipping off a pole, and it's kind of something to be aware of and something to be excited for," he said.
Helgren explained the acrobats can be on the ice thanks to special shoes equipped with screws. "Sometimes you can't tell who's skating and who's on shoes so that's what makes it exciting."
The show follows Crystal who's on a journey to discover who she really is.
"Throughout the show different acts and acrobatics and different skaters- they can show her how she can choose her own path," said Helgren.
This Cirque show employs 90 people, 43 of them in the cast. Desmarais says it also incorporates pop songs.
She says each night is just like the first,
"Every time we come into a new city it's like performing the show for the first time because Crystal has never been performed in the city before."
The family-friendly show runs through Sunday.
