HALES CORNERS -- The popular China Lights lantern festival will return to Boerner Botanical Gardens this fall, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele announced Monday.

"Tri City National Bank will present China Lights: The Magic Returns from Sept. 22–Oct. 22 at Boerner Botanical Gardens, 9400 W. Boerner Drive in Hales Corners, WI," the announcement reads.

The 2017 festival will feature nearly 50 large, hand-made lantern displays, with more than 1,000 individual components. There will be two dining areas, six new food vendors, and two stages with room for Chinese folk-culture activities.

“Boerner Botanical Gardens has been the best venue in North America to view this show,” said Kristen J. Talbott, senior vice president of Tri City National Bank. “The garden spaces and displays are flawlessly integrated. We are so pleased to be presenting this amazing experience.”

This is the second year the China Lights event has received funding through the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.

Tickets go on sale August 8. Get more information on the China Lights website.
