MILWAUKEE -- Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is building a new clinic in a part of Milwaukee in need of health care.
The new, 20,000-square-foot clinic will be in the Midtown Center at 54th and Fond du Lac on the city's northwest side.
Forty percent of the children living near that location live in poverty, and their parents don't have a way for them to see a doctor.
"We'll be providing pre-comprehensive care there," said Dr. Smriti Khare, the president of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Primary Care. "Pediatric preventive care services. We'll have a dental clinic. We'll have behavioral health services available and an adolescent clinic as well."
The new clinic will open in late summer 2016.
