The Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, Oct. 30, at approximately 6:40 p.m. at Northwoods Rd. in the Town of Port Washington.
The initial investigation reported it as a possible pedestrian and vehicle crash; however, the 41-year-old Cedarburg man was not struck by a vehicle.
Subsequently, the Sheriff’s Office deemed the incident as "suspicious."
Upon further investigation, deputies reported that minor vehicle contact had occurred.
The man was shot on the side of the roadway by the suspect and was pronounced dead on the scene, authorities say.
The suspect vehicle of interest was last seen traveling northbound on I43 at a high rate of speed immediately after the incident. The vehicle exited at CTH in Port Washington and then traveled back southbound on I43.
