A cat was rescued from a tree after it was found hanging from a tree with a rope around its neck Tuesday, according to Palmyra Public Safety.
According to a Facebook post by the public safety department, the cat’s owner saw the cat hanging from the tree and ran out to cut the cat down, but it climbed back up the tree where it stayed with the rope still around its neck.
A public safety officer along with the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha were able to safely get the kitty from the tree.
They removed the rope still around its neck, and they returned the cat to its owner.
