Police are looking for the suspect(s) who torched a van in Brewers Hill Wednesday night.
It happened just before 10 p.m. near 1st & Reservoir. No one was hurt, but investigators said they believe the fire is suspicious.
The van with no plates on it was fully engulfed in flames at one point, according to neighbors in the area.
Many were relieved the fire didn't spread to nearby homes or cars.
"I'm just grateful it wasn't any worse," said Mary Fernandez, who lives nearby.
"I was getting ready for bed and I heard a couple of loud 'booms,'" she added.
The vehicle fire happened right in front of where Genevieve Erez lives.
"We all ran out and looked, and just saw this big fireball of a car," Erez said.
Firefighters quickly put out the blaze. But on Thursday morning, charred metal and other small pieces of debris from the van could be spotted on the West side of First Street.
"It was very weird," Erez said.
MPD said it doesn't believe the van belonged to anyone in the neighborhood.
