A popular eatery in the Third Ward will close this month for renovations, and reopen with some new features.

The Lowlands Group, the company that owns Café Benelux, announced in a news release Wednesday that the restaurant will close on March 5 for projects including a redesigned bar, bringing the number of taps from 30 to 36, including a nitro line.

“We wanted to complete the work before our busy patio season starts, which we already had a little taste of in February this year.” said Dan Herwig, director of brand and marketing at Lowlands Group. “If weather cooperates we will reopen with our rooftop deck open.”

When it reopens on March 17, the brunch menu will feature “Liège” waffles, made of brioche dough and pearl sugar.

Café Benelux is located on the corner of Broadway and St. Paul Avenue.
