Business owners look forward to fall weather

Many area residents and business owners are looking forward to the coming weeks. Their anticipation is a result of Mother Nature's influence.

The first true taste of fall: Cool, crisp air, and a hint, just a hint, of what's about to happen; as the green vitality of Summer transitions to the vibrant rust and auburn of Autumn.

That inspires so many out-of-town trips to places like charming little Elkhart Lake, where they’re eager for fresh business by the time branches are bare.

Kathleen Eickhoff, Elkhart Lake Director Of Tourism, claims this is, “A very competitive time of year because there’s so much beautiful scenery in our state and as you can see once the colors change it is just a veritable beauty of things to look at, especially around the lake and in our area we’re near the Kettle Moraine State Forest, so there’s great hiking and biking.”

Family-owned restaurant “Off The Rails” is a favorite of visitors and locals alike. Owner Daniel Sadiq often sees new faces as we approach October.

“The next couple of weeks we’ll see folks driving through whether it’s from Milwaukee or Appleton, or Green Bay, they’ll come into this area and start driving through and hopefully stop in Elkhart Lake and visit us here.”
