The Milwaukee Bucks announced a partnership with a local company to build a 90-unit apartment complex in the entertainment district surrounding the team’s new arena.

The team made the announcement in a news conference Friday, naming Royal Capital Group, LLC to develop the residential project, located on the Sixth Street between McKinley and Juneau Avenues.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to partner with Kevin Newell and his team at Royal Capital to continue transforming this portion of the city,” said Bucks President Peter Feigin in a statement. “This project has always been about more than just basketball; our ownership is committed to contributing to the revitalization of the city and spurring additional private investment in the future of Milwaukee. Kevin embodies that entrepreneurial spirit and shares our commitment to building a stronger and more vibrant downtown community.”

The complex will feature one and two bedroom apartments, two-story lofts, a cafe, event space and a sports lounge.

“As fellow Milwaukeeans, Royal Capital is exceptionally excited to be a part of this generational development – not just as a transaction, but as a transformational opportunity for our hometown community,” Newell, president of Royal Capital LLC, said in a statement.
