BROOKFIELD — The Brookfield Police Department is searching for two men who tried to buy hydrochloric acid near a planned protest.

On June 5, the two suspects went to Hydrite Chemical to try and buy the acid. However, Hydrite Chemical is a corporate center and does not have retail services so the two were turned away.

According to a post by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, Hydrite Chemical is in the immediate vicinity of a planned protest that was planned for that afternoon in Brookfield.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, or if you recognize the suspects, please contact Detective Adam Behnke with the City of Brookfield Police Department at 262-787-3577.
