MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Brewers will once again be hosting a Thanksgiving food drive this year.

The drive-thru event will be from 5 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Miller Park, and is the ninth annual event.

Nov. 20 will be the only day Wisconsinites can donate food in person, and the Brewers said this year's drive is even more important due to an increase of visits at local food pantries.

Hunger Task Force volunteers will be at the event in masks and gloves to safely accept donations through car windows or from the trunk.

Turkeys are in especially high demand this year, the Milwaukee Brewers said in a press release. That's why they will be giving away Josh Hader bobbleheads to the first 200 cars that bring three or more frozen turkeys.

All drive-thru visitors will receive fun giveaway items from event sponsors, while supplies last.

In addition to regular food donations, the Hunger Task Force is also asking for healthy food options for kids. They are looking for donations of canned chicken or tuna, peanut butter, low sodium vegetables, canned fruit in 100% juice, and healthy breakfast cereal with no added sugar.

“This year is different for everyone in so many ways; we’re grateful to our friends at CBS 58 and Brewers Community Foundation for their generosity in keeping the Thanksgiving Food Drive alive and well, even in a pandemic,” said Executive Director of Hunger Task Force Sherrie Tussler.
