It was clear and cold this morning with lows in the single digits, but at least the wind was calm. We got to enjoy a lot of sunshine today with highs in the mid to upper 30s and that light breeze. The pleasant weather continues for your Friday evening plans with a clear sky, light wind and temps dropping into the upper 20s. Enjoy it because the weekend is not nice. The next storm system moves in tonight with clouds and a wintry mix by morning. This is the same storm that dropped snow in Las Vegas yesterday and 3 feet of snow in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Saturday morning starts off with a wintry mix of sleet, snow and freezing rain and because of that, all of SE Wisconsin is under a Winter Weather Advisory from 6am until noon. As temps warm into the mid 30s, the mix changes to rain. We should get a midday break from the rain, and just have to deal with fog, drizzle and temps near 40. It will be a rainy and foggy evening with t’showers dropping at least a half inch of rain to almost an inch in some locations. This would have been about 10” of snow, but we will see some snow from this system on Sunday. Sunday will start with a wintry mix in the early morning, and as temps drop from the mid 30s into the 20s, it changes to snow before noon. It looks like Milwaukee gets less than 1” of snow, while areas north could see 2-3” of snow. Central and northern WI will see at least a foot of snow. The biggest issue on Sunday will be the wind with NW gusts of 40 to 55 mph.
