Goodbyes are never easy, but they're a little bit easier with free beer. On Friday, from 4-7 p.m. anyone who rides a Bird Scooter to The Yard at The Iron Horse will receive a complimentary draft beer.

The Bird Call Happy Hour is a send-off to the scooters that may be confiscated by the city as early as this weekend.

The Milwaukee Common Council approved a proposal to seize Bird Scooters from public streets and sidewalks on Tuesday.

The city says Bird scooter riders will not be fined.

Kedar Malusare has been riding bird scooters in Milwaukee and will be sad to see them go.

“I was hoping that this could continue for the summer,” he said.  “This is a great thing, I think this is the future of going around the city.”

The Common Council also approved a resolution to ask the state to change regulations to make bird scooters legal.

“I have no problems with motorized scooters, I have a problem with a company that basically ignores the city’s role as a referee of the public right of way and just comes in here and does things without any discussion, any fair warning,” said Alderman Robert Baumann.
