A Beaver Dam woman escapes a house fire by jumping from the second floor balcony of her home.

The Beaver Dam Fire Department was notified of a house fire with an occupant trapped on the second floor at 115 Chatham Street in the City of Beaver Dam around 4:18 a.m. Wednesday.
Beaver Dam fire crews arrived to find a two story single family home with the first floor fully involved in fire. There was only one person inside the home.

Fire officials say they were able to quickly extinguish the fire but remained on the scene for a couple of hours.
No fire fighters were injured. The Beaver Dam Fire Chief says the woman had no medical complaint.

The cause of the fire is under routine investigation by the Beaver Dam Police Department. Fire officials say the home was gutted by the fire and the contents are a total loss. It is expected that the structure of the house is repairable.
