BAY VIEW -- The official Halloween isn't celebrated until Wednesday, but those who go all out for the holiday spend thousands of dollars and countless hours months in advance to put on massive displays for the community.

If you're looking to have a spooky Halloween in Bay View, A & J's Halloween House on the 2900 block of S. Clement Ave. is a must-stop. You can even help a good cause.

Every year Andy Reid turns his front yard into a creepy horror scene. This year, it's right out of a movie.

"With 'Little Shop of Horrors' we needed the flower shop, here is the flower shop where we grew Audrey II," he said.

If the teeth on Audrey II don't scare you, take a trip over to the dentist.

"He's currently pulling some teeth out of a victim," said Reid.

As Eerie as Reid's display may be, he says it quickly turned into a hit.

"The neighbors and the neighborhood loved it so we kept going," he said.

Thousands drop by each year, but if you're trying to compete you better get to work.

"We usually start planning things around Christmas or thereafter," he said.

Just a few blocks away on S. Indiana Ave., there are skeletons galore thanks to Andrew Bub. His yard hosts boney clowns, pirates and K-9s.

"It's about kids and imagination and scares are fun if they're safe," Bub explained.

His favorite skeletons come as a pair named the 'Newly Dead.' It's a celebration with a deeper meaning.

"We got married October 31, 1998," Bub said.

A 20th 'Hallowedding' anniversary tribute Bub admits took some convincing.

"(My wife) agreed to get married on Halloween so she was already halfway on board," Bub said.

Back at A and J's Halloween House, Reid decided to do some good with his holiday popularity.
Over the past few years, he's raised more than $15,000 for Pathfinders.

"Just take a minute to enjoy yourself and if you have that extra dollar, drop it in the bucket," Reid said.

If you're looking to add this as a stop on your Trick or Treating route, they're open Saturday night from 5-8.
