Heightened security will be in place Friday at Milwaukee’s North Division High School as former President, Barack Obama campaigns for Wisconsin Democrats.
The former President is just one of a handful of high profile Democrats who have been intended targets this week of pipe bomb parcels.
Even so, that doesn’t make Michael Goodwin nervous. He’s attending Friday’s rally.
“I was here last time when Barack spoke back when he was President," Goodwin said. "I have no concerns about it."
Maurice Lawrence will be in the crowd attending the political rally as well.
“Democrats or Republicans should not be targeted for anything,” said Lawrence.
While none of the pipe bombs have exploded and none have been reported in Southeast Wisconsin, Lawrence said he’s more disappointed that someone would do this.
“I’m concerned with our whole nation because our whole nation is up in chaos,” said Lawrence.
Milwaukee Police and the U.S. Secret Service are staying silent on security plans for the rally. Milwaukee Public Schools said it will be a regular school day for students, however, students under 18-years-old attending the political event will need parental permission.
Tickets are required to attend. Doors open at North Division High School, 1011 West Center St. in Milwaukee, at 12:30 p.m.
