Two bank robbery suspects led police on a high-speed chase from Brown Deer to Glendale that ended in the Milwaukee River Thursday.

Police have two suspects in custody after a morning robbery at the U.S. Bank in Brown Deer. During the chase, the driver veered off the road into the Milwaukee River while trying to escape officers.

Multiple agencies worked together using K-9 units to help catch the suspects who were found not too far from the river.

One of the suspects was taken to the hospital. Police say he had a medical condition.

In a news conference Thursday afternoon police said they believe they were only suspects involved. Police said neighbors saw the suspects running through their yards.

Lance Wallace helped police track down one of the suspects.

"I just thought it was going to be a normal day going to work but I guess it turned out to be a little more exciting than that. I ran back and got the cops, they came down and we told them which way he was running," Wallace said.

The entire ordeal has left neighbors on edge.

"I'm just glad that the last guy got caught because we do feel like we're a safe neighborhood and we don't need this happening here. It's very quiet, all of the neighbors are pretty cool,
we all know each other very well. We all take care of each other," Wallace said.

Parkview Elementary School and Nicolet High School were put on lockdown while police searched for the suspects.
