A Plymouth man faces felony charges after police say he was found pinned underneath a truck he was trying to steal parts from at a car dealership Saturday.

Authorities say Robert Thalheim was stuck for seven hours underneath the GMC Denali after the jack he was using failed.

According to the criminal complaint, Thalheim managed to remove four wheels from the truck, but became stuck after removing the fourth. The jack failed, pinning his head between the frame of the vehicle and the asphalt parking lot.

Officers found him at 6:45 a.m., but he admitted he had been at Meyer Motors since midnight.

Thalheim suffered a skull fracture and a broken collarbone.

Thalheim faces a felony charge of removing a major part of a vehicle and criminal damage to property.

Authorities say it will cost about $7,000 to fix damage to the truck.
