WEST ALLIS — Investigators with West Allis Police are working to determine the circumstances behind an attempted armed robbery that took place Monday.
Police say that a man wearing a fur coat and slippers entered the Family Dollar on Greenfield Avenue about 8:45 Monday. The man brandished a BB gun and demanded cash, however the clerk refused.
The man exited the business on foot and remains at large, according to police.
Investigators believe that the attempted robbery is unrelated to other incidents involving BB guns that took place over the weekend.
