MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's attorney general is warning people to be on the lookout for scams and price-gouging connected to the new coronavirus.
Josh Kaul said Monday that the state Department of Justice has been hearing about emails from scammers claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
Kaul also warns to beware of any claims about a vaccine or cure and be careful about making donations.
He pointed out that Gov. Tony Evers' order declaring a state of emergency last week prohibits price-gouging.
