TURTLE — A man was arrested Sunday for operating while intoxicated near Beloit after hitting a bridge support with his vehicle and parking in the middle of the road, according to the Rock County Sheriff's Office.

Around 6 p.m., deputies responded to a vehicle parked in the middle of the road on South Smith Road by East County Road J in Turtle, Wis. Paul L. Nardini, 70, slurred his words and displayed signs of being intoxicated, deputies said. He refused a field sobriety test. A blood sample was collected but results aren't known at this time.
