63-year-old man missing from Town of Merton found safe

WAUKESHA — Joseph (Joe) Lunowa, 63, has been missing since Thursday night or early Friday, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office.

He was last seen in the Town of Merton and is an endangered person.

Lunowa, who is 5 feet, 7 inches and weighs 150 pounds, might have left his residence between 9 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.

He wears glasses and might be wearing a green windbreaker or a leather Green Bay Packers jacket and a Packers or Badgers hat.

Lunowa suffers from cognitive disabilities, left without a cellphone and has no credit cards. He does not drive. He takes medications, but it is unknown if he has them with him.

Lunowa is not believed to be suicidal or pose any threat to the community, but he likes to hide and is likely to avoid people.

Citizens are being requested to check their properties and any garages or out buildings that may provide shelter.
