MEQUON — A 60-year-old man has been arrested after he fled from police on I-43.
The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office received several calls on Saturday regarding a driver who was swerving all over I-43 near Mequon Road and tailgating other vehicles.
Police located the vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver would not stop.
After approximately 15 miles, police used a tire deflation device to slow the vehicle down. The vehicle then drove off the road and into the median near County Highway LL.
The driver got stuck in the snow in the median, and was immediately taken into custody for fleeing and eluding, operating while under the influence and felon in possession of a concealed knife.
According to police, narcotics are believed to be a factor.
