A group of Washington County parents were surprised to find their cars broken into after attending a youth soccer game Sunday.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to Heritage Trails County Park in the Town of Polk shortly after 3 p.m. after receiving a report of a car being broken into.
They soon discovered that a total of six vehicles were broken into while the owners were watching the game.
Authorities say the windows were broken out and various items were taken, ranging from cash to credit cards and electronics.
Germantown Police are also investigating similar incidents at two locations along STH 145 at youth sporting events around the same time.
The sheriff’s department is stepping up patrols around youth sporting events but is warning residents against leaving valuables visible in their vehicles.
