Milwaukee Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man Friday evening near 5th and Wright.
According to police, officers responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of N. 5th Street around 7 p.m.
Officers discovered the man suffering from a serious gunshot wound and began performing CPR until Milwaukee Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
Witnesses say the victim had been involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect when the suspect shot the victim, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
