LAKE MILLS — A 30-year-old Lake Mills man was arrested on Saturday for his fourth OWI after he crashed into another vehicle on I-94.

State Troopers responded to the scene around 12:20 p.m. Saturday and found two vehicles in the ditch, each with significant damage. There were open alcohol containers in one of the vehicles.

Witnesses say they saw one vehicle, an Infiniti, speeding and swerving prior to crashing into a Hyundai.

The driver of the Infiniti was seen running away from the car and into a wooded area. City of Lake Mills Police and the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office searched the area and brought the suspect back to the scene.

The suspect, Jose Luis Gonzalez Campos, showed signs of impairment and was asked to take a standard field sobriety test. According to the Wisconsin Department of transportation, a preliminary breath test showed an ethanol level of 0.184.

He was taken to a local hospital for a blood test and then was taken to the Jefferson County Jail for his fourth OWI offense. He was also cited for Operating After Revocation.
