A 24-year-old woman died Tuesday night in a shooting near the 800 block of N. 23rd Street.
Police say they responded to the report of a shooting about 10:45 p.m., and upon arrival located the woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Milwaukee Fire Department paramedics attempted to resuscitate the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they do have a person of interest in custody in relation to the incident, and they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
