2019 EAA Airventure celebrates 50 years with legendary guests and events

Besides the thrilling air show and aviation highlights, some other elements will also take this year's event to new heights. Including, music from The Fray, a look at aerial firefighting and a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Boeing 747.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Airventure, EAA will offer free admission for all Oshkosh residents on Monday.

Airventure 2019 will also take us back to the moon landing of Apollo 11 with special guests, Astronaut Michael Collins. The event will also showcase "The Year of the Fighter" with a roster of legendary American military aircraft.

"We've invited every single P51 Mustang owner in North America to bring their airplane. We hope to have more than 30 on the line this year. Then we have some of the more modern fighters. We have modern fighters and we have vintage fighters from 75 years ago all on the flight line at the same time, says," says EAA spokesperson, Dick Knapinski.

There are also opportunities to take flights on different aircraft.

It all takes place on the 22nd through the 28th of July in Oshkosh.

The EAA dates back to the 1950s and was previously held in Milwaukee and Rockford, Illinois.
