2 dead in separate Kenosha shootings

KENOSHA — Two people are dead in two separate shootings in Kenosha, police say.

Kenosha police said officers responded to the area near 51st Street and 25th Avenue on a report of shots being fired at 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 19. Police found a 40-year-old man with a fatal gunshot wound.

Later, police officers responded to the 1100 block of 61st Street on another report of shots being fired. When officers arrived, two victims were found. A 24-year-old man was shot and died on the scene. A 13-year-old boy was also shot, but was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one is in custody for either shooting.

Police do not believe the shootings are related.
