RACINE -- Two people are dead after a car strikes a tree in Racine. It happened Saturday near the corner of Erie St. and South St.
The Racine Police investigation shows the vehicle was traveling at high speeds when it lost control.
Viewer photos from Robert O’Brien show the sedan mangled and destroyed after colliding with the tree. Another picture shows several fire and emergency crews huddled around the passenger side a short time after the accident.
Racine Police said the driver and passenger were taken to the hospital where they died. It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved. The victims’ names have not been released.
