Woman, 18, dies after reportedly taking "Molly"

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office is investigating the death of an 18-year-old woman who lost consciousness at a Milwaukee night spot after reportedly taking a popular party drug early Sunday morning.

Officials say the woman was at The Rave, located at 2401 W. Wisconsin, when she went unresponsive at about 2 a.m.

She was transported to Sinai Samaritan Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 4:58 a.m. 

According the ME’s office, the victim had ingested “Molly” before going unresponsive. 

Molly is a a concentrated form of MDMA, or ecstasy. The illegal drug causes symptoms such as dehydration and a dangerous increase in body temperature, which can lead to kidney failure

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
