Police have arrested an 18-year-old man following a car crash on Milwaukee’s South side that lead to the death of 16-year-old Lisandra Munoz Sanchez.

According to a police report, authorities believe the brother was street racing with another car on 13th Street. A cement truck was making a right turn onto a driveway when the siblings hit it.

Munoz Sanchez was in the passenger seat when the driver slammed on his brakes to avoid a cement truck at 13th Street and Whitaker Avenue.

He lost control of the car, causing it to slide sideways, and hit the truck on the passenger side. She was not wearing a seatbelt and airbags didn’t deploy.

Munoz Sanchez was pronounced dead on the scene. Her brother sustained serious injuries and went to the hospital, and was also arrested.

The drivers of the suspected second car drove away.
