MILWAUKEE — A 16-year-old boy is in the hospital after being shot and injured at Richards and Chambers streets in Milwaukee Sunday night.

“I came home like right after it happened and tried to get into, tried to get home. There was police tape everywhere and then my dad had called me and told me someone was shooting out here,” said neighbor Sonja Carroll.

Police say the victim is expected to survive. Officers are seeking unknown suspects.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Milwaukee Police at (414) 935-7360 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at (414) 224-Tips or P3 Tips App.

Police say this is the 34th non-fatal shooting of someone under the age of 17 so far this year, which is 4 more than during the same period in 2021.
