CUDAHY — A 13-year-old Cudahy girl reportedly was struck by a vehicle while walking in the 4900 block of South Lake Drive at about 4:40 p.m. Thursday, according to the Cudahy Police Department.
The girl was brought to a local hospital by paramedics, according to the news release.
Before the officers arrived, the driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene northbound on Lake Drive. Investigating officers notified area law enforcement agencies of the vehicle’s description.
“The suspect’s vehicle and the suspected driver were identified due to the assistance of community members who partnered with officers by offering information,” Chief Thomas Poellot said in the news release.
At about 9:40 p.m., the suspected driver — a 19-year-old man — came to the Cudahy Police Department, where he was arrested before being brought to the Milwaukee County Jail.
The case remains under investigation.
