LOMIRA, Wis. – A person was struck and killed by a train late Sunday night in Dodge County.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received a report around 11:50 p.m. from Canadian National Railroad of a train that hit a person on the tracks.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened adjacent to and west of Industrial Drive, north of the grade crossing at County Road HH, which is inside the village of Lomira limits.
The train was heading north on the tracks at the time, and the incident did not happen at a road crossing, deputies said.
The person died at the scene. Investigators are still working to identify the person killed.
The train was stopped in the area for the investigation, which blocked some roads, but no major highways were affected Monday morning, deputies said.
