RACINE COUNTY – One person is dead from a collision between a car and semi-trailer on a Racine County highway Sunday morning.
It happened around 9 a.m. on Highway 11 and the I-41 ramp near Sturtevant.
According to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, the semi was going west on Highway 11 and was making a left turn to get on I-41.
The car was going east and hit the semi's trailer and became wedged underneath. Rescue crews and flight for life were called to the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office says the driver of the car died while rescue crews were working on extricating them from their vehicle. No one else was in the car. The driver of the semi was not hurt.
The crash is still under investigation. The sheriff's office says there is no indication alcohol was a factor.
