MILWAUKEE -- A motorcyclist has "very serious injuries" after a hit and run crash in Milwaukee Monday night.
The crash happened at approximately 8:50 p.m. at Mitchell Street and Muskego Avenue.
Milwaukee police said the victim, a man in his 20's, was going west on Mitchell when he went in the far right lane to get around cars stopped at a red light.
Officials said the man disregarded the signal and was going through the intersection when he was hit by a vehicle going north on Muskego.
Witnesses said the vehicle, a silver 2001 or newer Mitsubishi Montero four-door SUV, stopped briefly and then left the scene.
The victim, who police said was was not wearing a helmet, was taken the hospital for treatment.
