MILWAUKEE — A person is dead following a crash near Vel R Phillips and Center in Milwaukee on Monday, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office.
Medical crews responded to the scene around 8:35 p.m.

According to police, a 31-year-old was "in the roadway" and was hit by a driver going westbound on W. Center St. The pedestrian died at the scene.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police in the investigation.
