MOUNT PLEASANT -- One person died during a house fire in Mount Pleasant Friday night.
The fire broke out at approximately 11 p.m. near State Highway 11 and Durand Avenue.
When first responders arrived, they said there was already "very dark and black smoke" coming from the residence.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department said the body of Lori L Liesner, 49, of Mount Pleasant, was found while firefighters were extinguishing the blaze.
Officials have not determined the cause of the fire.
Liesner's cause of death remains undetermined pending the results of an autopsy.
