State Senator Dave Hansen (D-Green Bay) has apologized for retweeting a statement that contained a derogatory comment.
The retweet not only contained the 'F-word' but also a portion of the 'R-word,' a slur used to describe people with disabilities.
"This has been an ongoing mission of ours for the last 25 years," said Dawn Nuoffer, executive director of the Downs Syndrome Association of Wisconsin. "We've donated thousands of T-shirts across the state to end the use of the word."
Hansen said he inadvertently retweeted the wrong message.
