WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A 19-year-old woman from the Town of Vernon has died after a rollover accident on I-43 in Waukesha County Saturday.
The accident happened just after 1:20 p.m. near Moorland Road.
According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office, the woman was driving southbound when she lost controlled trying to pass a vehicle. Her car entered the median and rollover two times and then stopped in the left lane of northbound traffic.
She was pronounced was dead at the scene.
Traffic on I-43 northbound was detoured for several hours starting at Racine Avenue as emergency crews were at the scene cleaning up and investigating.
The sheriff's office says their investigation continues.
