Bystanders performed CPR on a person in the water Friday night after a car went off of a roadway and into a retention pond, according to the Fox Crossing Fire Department.

Authorities got the call at 6 p.m. to a retention pond near the Hwy. 10 eastbound ramp to Racine Road.

Firefighters found a car submerged in the pond water.

After finding bystanders helping the person in the water, crews pulled the person to shore and continued the work to resuscitate the person.  Crews took the person to a hospital; that person's condition is not known.

No one else was in the vehicle.

One bystander suffered a minor injury.
