MADISON, Wis. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson’s refusal to rule out a challenge of Electoral College results in Congress is leading to widespread Democratic criticism.
Incoming state Rep. Francesca Hong of Madison called the Republican Johnson “delusional scum” on Thursday. Democratic U.S. Rep. Mark Pocan also tweeted criticism of Johnson, calling him “Wisconsin's biggest embarrassment.” Johnson plans a Senate committee hearing on what he says were “irregularities" with the election. Republicans who control the Wisconsin state Legislature have scheduled a similar hearing for Friday.
