The Olympic basketball tournament at the Tokyo Olympics will be held at the Saitama Super Arena just outside of Tokyo. The $750 million arena can seat up to 36,500 spectators, though given the uncertain nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, it's unlikely that all of the arena's seats will be filled.
Saitama Super Arena has hosted numerous large-scale events, including concerts and NHL games as well as UFC and WWE events.
The arena also has a history of hosting basketball events. In 2003, the Los Angeles Clippers and Seattle SuperSonics played two regular-season games at the arena. More recently Saitama Super Arena hosted a pair of preseason games between the Toronto Raptors and Houston Rockets.
The Tokyo Olympic basketball tournament will begin on Sunday, July 25 and conclude on Sunday, August 8.
