Appleton police say one person is dead after an officer-involved shooting at a bar in downtown Appleton.
It happened after 1:30 a.m., officers working foot patrol in the 500 block of West College Avenue were alerted to a shooting inside Jack's Apple Pub.
When officers arrived they could see people leaving the bar. Officers then took up positions at the front and side doors of the pub.
According to police, an officer entering the South State Street side of the business encountered a subject with a gun.
Police say the officer fired his weapon at the subject with a gun, before seeking cover outside of the building.
More officers then entered the building to render aid and to provide safety to anyone left in the building.
Police tell TODAY'S TMJ4's sister station NBC26 the suspect was taken to a local hospital but later died.
Two people inside the pub were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
No officers were injured during the call.
Appleton Police say they have contacted Green Bay Police to help with the investigation.
