Appleton Police: Highway painting crew member hurt in crash, alcohol believed to be factor

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Appleton Police Department reports they believe alcohol was a factor in a crash on HWY 41 that sent two people to the hospital.

Police say it happened at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning near Ballard Road. 

A crew that was painting lines was hit by the vehicle and one crew member and a passenger in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and taken to the hospital for treatment.

A 27-year-old from Appleton man was taken into custody.
