MILWAUKEE — A Milwaukee police officer and two children are in the hospital with serious injuries after a crash late Tuesday night.
The crash happened in the area of 16th and Keefe just after 10:30 p.m. while the officer was pursuing a vehicle who police believed was involved in a robbery.
Police say the officer is 34-years-old and has been with the Milwaukee Police Department for five years.
The two children, ages 7 and 9, were playing outside when the fleeing vehicle crashed into a parked car and injured them. One of the boys has a broken leg.
The driver, a 28-year-old man, has been arrested and a 30-year-old passenger has been taken into custody.
