Whether you love it or you hate it, snow's as much a part of the holiday season as hot cocoa and Santa Claus. But we wanted to know what it is about those magical frozen flakes that turns us all into little kids, even for a minute - before we have to go out and shovel it. So, we're taking a look at flakes, crystals, snow days, and snowmen - and women - by the numbers.

- 118:

The number of days a year it snows in Mount Washington, New Hampshire. Residents there don't have to dream of a having a "White Christmas" - if anything, they might dream of a Christmas where they can actually see the ground.

- 40%:

Of the cities that have the most snow days in the US, 4 of the top ten are in the Empire State - looking at you, Buffalo.

- 95 feet:

The world record amount of snow that fell in one winter in Mt. Baker, Washington. Talk about a winter wonderland - except, you know, when you've got to clean it all.

- 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000:

The amount of ice crystals that fall from the sky, each winter, in the US. That's is a real number by the way. It goes by the name "septillion" - and you'll probably never hear it again.

- 100 degrees:

How much warmer it can be inside an igloo than outside. Is your mind blown? Even though the structures are made with snow, the white fluff is compacted in a way that actually traps body heat. So, maybe make yourself an igloo this winter - it's probably cheaper than paying extra on your heating bill.

- 15 inches:

The diameter of the biggest snowflake ever recorded. Looks like that little flake was definitely eating its snowflake vegetables on the way down to Earth.

- 122 feet and 1 inch:

The height of a Guinness World Record-holding snowman. But don't get it twisted - this snowman is all woman. Olympia was made out of 13 million pounds of snow, 25-foot spruce trees, 5-foot tires. She even had eyelashes made with Alpine skis, and man, do they look Instagram glam.

- 5,834:

The amount of Seattle residents that took part in the US's largest snowball fight ever. But, the record didn't stop there. Afterwards, all the residents ran to Starbucks to warm their hands with warm cups of cocoa, thus winning the record for creating the longest coffee shop line, ever.
